ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS AND HYPERHYDROSIS
In particular these are the frown lines between the Eyebrows (the ‘glabellar’ area), horizontal forehead creases and the smile lines at the outer corners of the eyes – the crow’s feet. In your free consultation I will discuss which areas you want targeted. The rationale of treatment is to temporarily weaken the muscles in these areas that pull on the skin. The effects last from 3-6 months. The time between injections becomes longer as the muscle is made weaker with non-useage. The skin is like a piece of paper..if it creased too many times the creases become permanent so it is important to start treatments before the wrinkles become permanent. The treatment is a prescription only medicine (PoM) (so cannot be named) That must be prescribed by a doctor and requires specialist cosmetic training to administer. The injections are carried out using the finest of needles with an anaesthetic applied to the skin surface. The results come on within 2 to 14 days. Rarely there is bruising but this can be reduced with ice & Auriderm creams. If your wrinkles have been around for some time anti-wrinkle injections may not go completely and you may want some Dermal fillers. Often patients start with Chemical Peels that delay the need for anti-wrinkle treatment. Hyperhydrosis can be helped by temporarily paralysing the muscles that control sweat secretion. It requires multiple tiny injections in both armpits.
