Sue Fishwick - Hot Stone and M Technique Massage
Hot Stone Massage
A relaxing treatment that dates back over 3000 years to ancient Indian and China which incorporates basalt stones, chosen for their heat retention qualities. The aim of this form of massage is to re-energise and to balance the body while transferring the warmth of the smoothe stones deeply into tired, aching muscles.
The M Technique
The M Technique differs from massage. It is described as ‘a method of structured touch where each movement and sequence is done in a set pattern at a set pressure and set speed and works on skin receptors, sending signals to the brain. A full treatment takes around 60 minutes.
In over 200 case studies the M Technique was found to elicit a ‘profound relaxation response in healthy but stressed adults with its effects being likened to’ physical hypnotherapy’.
This technique created by Dr Jane Buckle over ten years ago is now widely used in a variety of different settings, including hospitals and hospices where conventional massage may be considered in appropriate.
